Characteristics of a Good User Persona While It Is Easy to Select a Set of User Characteristics and Call It a Persona , It Is Difficult to Create User Personas That Are Truly Effective Communication and Design Tools. Here Are Some Characteristics of a Good User Persona: People Are Not Fictitious Guesses About What an Objective User Thinks. Every Aspect of a Person's Description Must Be Linked to Real (Observed and Researched) Data. Personas Reflect Actual User Patterns , Not Different User Roles. People Are Not a Reflection of Roles Within a System. a Persona Focuses on the Current State (How Users Will Interact with a Product), Not the Future (How Users Will Interact with a Product). a Persona Is Context Specific (Focuses on Behaviors and Goals Related executive list to a Specific Domain of a Product). Creating User Personas in the Design Process in the Design Thinking Process, Designers Often Start Creating Personas During the Second Phase, the Define Phase . Like Most Design Elements, Personas Can Be Developed Iteratively. People Will Be Used During All Subsequent Phases of a Design Process to Inform the Design Decisions Made by the Team. What Should a User Persona Consist Of? Let's Start with Some Basic Theory. a Simple Character Answers the Following Questions Who Are You? What Is Your Main Objective? What Is Your Main Obstacle to Achieve It? Think About It: Even If They Buy or Use the Same Product, Your Users and Customers Have Different Needs and Are Attracted to Different Things.
